Education: Graduated from Troy University 2016 with a BS in Business Marketing
Background: I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I decided to attend Troy University my senior year of High School, and I must say, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. While attending Troy University was a member of the Kappa Gamma chapter of Phi Mu, on the executive board of the Marketing Club and a member of the Sorrell College of Business Student Advisory committee. During my time at Troy I received a summer internship opportunity to intern with the Fashion Office at AmericasMart, located in Atlanta, GA. I was a sales representative for the Therapy with Lisa Adams Showroom and a retail sales employee for E+ME.
Plans for the future: Throughout the past year I have learned not to plan for the future. God always has a plan for our lives and most of the time they are different from what we have planned for ourselves. As of right now I have never been happier than I am today. I am blessed with a beautiful home, a wonderful job, a fiancé that loves me with his whole heart, an amazing church, CrossFit gym and great friends. As a young professional I hope to implement new and effective ideas to help our community engagement, growth and prosperity. I am looking forward to seeing what Big Man upstairs has in store for me.
Personal Interests: I thrive off living a healthy life style and meeting new people. I am an active member of a CrossFit gym, and I love to run. I recently got engaged and wedding planning has become a new hobby. I enjoy grilling out with my fiancé, soaking up the sun, and spending time with family and friends.
What skill sets have you learned throughout your past work experiences that benefit your position with the Chamber of Commerce? I am a firm believer in constant communication. Throughout my past work experiences in the sales industry, I have found that effective engagement and communication can make relationships flourish. Whether it is in outside sales or within the team members within your firm, communication is a vital aspect when it comes to building, maintaining and retaining effective relationships outside and inside the company. As Vice President, I will strive to actively engage with the Pike county community throughout every aspect of my position. I believe in Pike County and I am excited to bring my personal enthusiasm to our community and help businesses flourish in many different ways.
What is your career objective for this position? My career objective for 2016 is centered on self-development, growth and to continuously learn different aspects of the business sector. Pike County has so many things to offer, and this year I want to focus on learning different aspects of each business while maintaining constant engagement to help serve the community and build prosperity.
How would you like to help the committees and the Pike county community during your time with the chamber? Being a new young profession in Pike County I want to bring enthusiasm, passion and fresh ideas to each committee I am a part of. I am excited to work with such great committees and learn from their organization, communication and efficiency.
What is your favorite thing to do in Pike County? Honestly, I couldn’t narrow it down to simply one thing. One of my favorite things about Pike County is the community. There is not a day that goes I don’t run into someone I know or meet someone new. I have enjoyed the transition from a student at the University to a young professional in the community. Over the past few months God has opened so many doors in my life that I am very thankful for. I also have the pleasure of being engaged to Goshen High Schools Boys head Basketball coach, Ethan Carroll. Throughout the past year I have been able to watch a team grow in so many ways. During Basketball season you will catch me in the stands cheering on my favorite coach and team!
